Diane (McIntyre) Lawrence
Dearest Margaret,
Although we have never met, I feel our paths have crossed in a special way, through the delightful stories my father Bob and step mom Sandy have shared with me over the years. They love you and George and will always cherish those memories and hold them close to their hearts. I pray for all who sorrow the loss of George and ask God to give you all the strength to get through this most difficult time. Lean on him and hold onto the many happy years you and George shared your life together. As I read this poem I thought of your dearly beloved and wanted to share with you and all those who mourn.
"I'm Free"
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard his call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
to laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I found the peace at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joys,
A Friendship shared, a laugh a kiss.
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full; I've savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all to brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and share with me,
God wanted me now - He set me free.
"Thy will be done.... May you Rest in Peace George"
