Dorothy Whatley 95, of Tampa Florida passed away at the Melech Hospice House on December 14, 2017.

She was born on September 29, 1922 in Hopkinsville KY, Daughter of Daniel Warren Dulin and Mary Margaret Kaye. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Brooks Whatley, Robert Brooks Whatley, Brothers Frank and James Dulin.

She is survived by her Son, Joseph Warren Whatley, Daughter-in-law, Helle Whatley, her Sister Helen Nix (99 years old), three grandchildren, Michelle Ferriera, Nicole Wirth, Alyssa Whatley and four great-grandchildren.

Dot was a strong and wonderful person who cared deeply for family and friends. She always had a beautiful smile that came from her heart and immediately put people at ease. She was a 65-year member of Seminole Heights Baptist church and was very proud that she was the oldest member of the church. Dot lived at University Village for 17 years and was very active in the many programs offered at the retirement center until she could no longer participate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in her name be made to the Melech Hospice House at 11125 N. 52nd Street Tamps, FL 33617.

A graveside service will be held, Friday, December 29, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
