Obituary for Edwin Stephen Jankura Sr.

Edwin S. Jankura, Tampa, FL passed away in his sleep, October 7, 2017 at age 95 at the University Village Nursing Center. After receiving his degree in accounting from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, he joined the U.S. Army Air Corps where he served in the Pacific during WWII. Following the war he had a successful career as a factory comptroller followed by and equally successful career in banking. His three children, Edwin, Barbara and Philip and five grandchildren survive him. He was a stern but loving father who always put his family first and wanted nothing but our success and happiness. He aged with dignity and grace and never displayed any anger or frustration as the ravages of time took their toll on his body and capacities. He and his wife Mary set a high standard for life, love and resilience. He was a devoted member of St. Philip the Apostle Orthodox Church in Tampa. He will be buried with his wife at Florida National Cemetery.
