Obituary for Matilde DeFriese

The lord received another angel Thursday August 10, 2017 at approximately 3:30 AM. Matilde DeFriese, born in Cuba on June 2 1925, moved on to join her husband, son, sisters and brothers who preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter Cassandra, her son in law Chuck, her grandsons, Charles and Christopher, and four great grandchildren ,Alyssa, Brianna, Charlie and Charlotte,. We will miss her. We will NEVER forget the love she had for all of us or the meaningful life lessons she taught. Heaven is now an even better place.

I remember when I was a little boy, I would spend most Friday nights at Grandmas and Grandpas house. I remember on Saturday mornings, Grandma would make me breakfast. I can still picture the silence of the early morning, my Grandfather in the back living room reading the paper and Grandma next to me keeping my company as I enjoy the liquid gold, “Cuban Coffee”. These memories are some of my fondest and I’m so glad I had the chance to share them with her.

-Charles Wentworth

My biggest memories of Grandma are of her and Grandpa keeping me after school all those days, her love without fear attitude, how she lifted everyone up around her and she was always one of the first to tell me how proud of me she was.

-Christopher Wentworth
