Nickie Lee Eaton, 71 of Tampa, Florida passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at his home.

Born in Springfield, Ohio to Walter E. and Ella Mae (Preston) Eaton. He grew up in Lima, Ohio where he graduated high school and joined the Marine Corps. He served in the Vietnam War where he earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

After discharge he relocated, making Tampa, Florida his home. He was very artistic. He loved listening to country music and watching westerns. He was a NASCAR fan and a collector of Dale Earnhardt memorabilia.

He is survived by his daughter Shonda Mae (Orlando) Cruz, son Shane Eaton, Sister Debra Reedy, nephews Walter D. (Rosetta) Eaton and Daniel R. (Shannon) Hittle, niece Billie Jo (Ron) McDaniel, granchildren Jordan M. Fuqua, Courtney J. Molina, Alex J. Molina and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Danny "Duke" Schultz.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held 2:30pm Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
