Obituary for Arsenio Perez

PEREZ, Arsenio, 101, of Tampa passed away July 13, 2015. He was born November 9, 1913 to Zoila Perez Nunez and Patricio Perez and was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda; his sister, Aida Fernandez and brother, Patricio Perez. He is survived by his nephews and nieces, Charles M. Fernandez, Frank F. Fernandez Jr. (Nancy), David Fernandez, Mary Ann Fontaine (Dick) and Sandra Bobko (Pete) of North Carolina. He leaves behind many great nieces and nephews. Gabriel Perez was also a good friend. Arsenio grew up in Tampa Heights, and graduated from Hillsborough High School. He had several jobs after school and eventually became a radio operator. During WWII he was a merchant marine, traveling all over the world. He continued in this field until he retired from his seafaring career. In 1964 he became the owner of the concession stand at the Ben T Davis beach. Later in his life he lost his sight and has lived at the Alimar Assisted Living facility for the past 12 years. Our thanks to all the staff and employees at the ALF for their love and excellent care. A special thanks to Dr. Dennis Pupello, M.D. A big thank you to Hospice’s Garnet team for their excellent help and care. A private burial will take place at the Florida National Cemetery at Bushnell. A Memorial service will take place at a later date.
