Condolence: I am 67 yrs. old & remember this beautiful woman & teacher. I has Ms. Givens in sixth grade, but often thought about how fortunate other students were to have her as their teacher. Condolence From: Melvin Ayala

Condolence: As one of the hundreds of children who had the good fortune to have the privilege of being in her classroom, I just wanted to extend my sympathy to the Fernandez family. I was especially lucky to be taught by Mrs. Fernandez in both the 5th & 6th grade at B.C. Graham. She was the most beautiful teacher I ever had and I eagerly looked forward to school each day as a beneficiary of her many gifts, talents, and skills. I remember her well with great admiration even though it has been 63 years since I was in her classroom. She was the best of her profession and I am certain she had a great impact on the lives of all her students. Again, I am so sorry for your loss.
